The ACE Professional Services Agreement (EPI) is a standard form consultant published by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE). This practical opinion relates to the 2017 edition (ACE published in 2009 the previous editions of the ACE agreement and related documents). The ACE EPI contains built-in instructions and is available in digital and print form. CEA also publishes other agreements, including the ACE Professional Services Agreement: Advisory, Investigatory and other services, a sub-consultancy agreement, a Short form agreement and an agreement for use by a consumer (which are not covered by this practical note). ACE is also introducing new service tables, adapted to Works` 2013 RIBA plan, which contain new basic elements and optional results at each stage and can be adapted to each BIM protocol used in the project. There are a number of optional services that can be agreed upon. New schedules are now available for civil and structural design with options for lead or individual/non-lead consulting roles. The ACE Professional Services Agreement is aimed at all types of potential customers, including contractors or end-users, and is suitable for all UK laws. The ACE PSA should be used when an employer instructs an advisor to plan permanent work or when a contractor hires an advisor as a sub-advisor Please note that only digital versions of contracts and agreements can be purchased directly from us. Printed versions can be purchased from our partner, What a Construction Contract, which respects all discounts for CEA members. Rosemary is ACE`s contract expert who knows the chords by heart.
In this practical note, the terms “adviser” and “client” are used, as these are the terms used for parties to THE PSA ACE. A new edition of the ace-sub-consultancy Agreement has been introduced, which complements the ACE Professional Services Agreement.
